QE Home | Quilts Etc. is a designer bedding retailer with over 75 stores across the country and a thriving e-commerce business. Proudly Canadian and family-owned since 1992, we are passionate about providing sleepers with beautiful, accessibly-priced, and sustainable bedding solutions crafted by our in-house design team. Our Sleep Stylists pride themselves on delivering exceptional, expert customer service across all our channels. .

We’re currently seeking a Content Writer to be based in our South Burnaby offices.

In this role, you’ll help shape the customer experience for millions of Canadians each year and explore the various touchpoints of an omnichannel brand. By developing a keen understanding of our products, our customers, and our business, you will collaborate with our content teams to bring the voice of our brand to life. You will apply your clever wordsmith skills to a variety of communications, both for our customers and internally for our teams. Don’t lose sleep if you don’t match 100% of the requirements below. Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Understand our customers, our products, and our company’s vision and goals in order to effectively communicate the value of our products, product knowledge, styling, and inspirations/trends.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the creative team to create engaging, compelling, and consistent content at all customer touch-points:
    • In-store signage
    • Website (blog posts, product descriptions, web pages, etc.)
    • Social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn)
    • Alternative sales channels (Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, etc.)
    • External media channels
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and SEO best practices.
  • Partner with our creative, product, merchandising, marketing, service & sales, operations, and technical teams to identify content opportunities, foster online engagement, and continuously improve the customer shopping experience.
  • Assist with company communications/materials related to hiring, training, and culture.

Technical Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in creative and/or marketing writing.
  • Proven ability to write compelling content across various platforms, demonstrated in a professional portfolio.
  • Skilled in communicating technical information in an accessible yet detailed manner.
  • Strong foundational understanding of SEO writing concepts and on-page optimization.
  • Knowledge of current trends in social media, digital media, and traditional media.
  • Technologically savvy and passionate about the digital sphere and all the possibilities it presents.

Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented with a positive team spirit — you are comfortable providing and receiving constructive feedback to help improve the design process and finished product.
  • Critical thinker and problem solver — always prioritizing the customer experience and ready to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to think strategically and innovate in both established and new mediums.

Bonus Skills ~ Nice to have, but not necessary

  • Familiarity with SEMRush and Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with BigCommerce or similar.
  • Familiarity with interior design, industrial design, and/or retail.
  • Fluency in French.

Education

Diploma or Degree in English, Journalism or Communications.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Core Hours: 9:00–5:30

Ability to commute/relocate:

Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
