Location: Head Office, Burnaby, BC

Part Time / Full Time: FULL TIME

We’re currently seeking a Human Resource Director to be based from our South Burnaby offices.

You are instrumental in driving the full employee life cycle inclusive of Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Coaching, Development, Compensation and Employee Relations. As a key member of the QE Home Management Team, you will create forward-thinking initiatives that enrich the professional lives of all team members and embrace our culture.You are passionate about B Corporation Certification and ensure all Company directives and process are within compliance.

Job Objective

  • Embrace an employee-focused and performance-based culture aligned to our overall values.
  • You will be a strategic business partner on site or via other means of communication to coach and support all leaders and managers for all things people related, ensuring accurate and consistent application of all company policies and procedures that relate to Provincial laws and standards.
  • Partner with all Store and Department Managers to understand business needs and objectives and identify HR strategies, programs and policies that support employee engagement, retention and development of top talent
  • Collaborate with Management on building operational SOPs and training initiatives and Annual Reviews.
  • Maintain best in class management and employee guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies.
  • Mediate and conduct employee relations investigations.
  • Extensive Employment Standards Act and Health and Safety knowledge with ability to build and train employees company-wide.
  • Administer and monitor all Work Safe claims
  • Contribute to policy and program development that supports employee growth, development, engagement and departmental operational excellence and efficiency.
  • Work closely with all Managers to assess recruitment needs and strategies, as well as support the attraction and retention of exceptional talent that aligns to our culture and values.
  • Oversee Diversity and Inclusion survey; engagement, results analysis and provide strategic recommendations and HR deliverables.
  • Oversee Benefits program and management.

What You're Bringing To The Table

  • A Passion for our mission and what we do in a progressive approach to HR following B Corporation standards
  • 5+ years of experience in HR Management within a multi-unit retail environment
  • Overseen on site of via other means of communication the strategic development of key people functions including compensation, benefits, professional development, company policy and procedure and talent acquisition
  • Strong track record of building and managing high-performing teams
  • Deep understanding of how strong company values influence culture and will lead to long-term success. Experience developing company values is an asset
  • Demonstrate the ability to be successful in a quickly evolving and rapid-paced organization
  • Experience managing up, down and across in a multi-location and office environment
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, integrity, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Canadian Employment Law
  • Administer and monitor on-line training platform
  • Administer and monitor personnel aspects of Power Office
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Strong analytical/decision-making skills
  • Have own means of transportation
  • Full ability to travel
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university specializing in HR
  • CHRL required
