Junior Graphic Designer - Full Time

Location: Head Office, Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)

Part Time / Full Time: FULL TIME

QE Home | Quilts Etc. is a designer bedding retailer with over 75 stores across the country and a thriving e-commerce business. Proudly Canadian and family-owned since 1992, we are passionate about providing sleepers with beautiful, accessibly-priced, and sustainable bedding solutions crafted by our in-house design team. Our Sleep Stylists pride themselves on delivering exceptional, expert customer service across all our channels.

We’re currently seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to be based in our South Burnaby offices.

In this role, you’ll help shape the shopping experience for millions of customers each year and explore the various touchpoints of an omnichannel brand. You will work collaboratively with our marketing and product teams to help tell a visual story for overall creative for print and digital campaigns. Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Working in tandem with our Marketing & Web Teams, clearly understand our customers, products, and company’s vision and goals to help ensure a consistently branded customer experience across all channels.
  • Create digital assets for our e-commerce site, emails, social media, digital advertising, etc.
  • Create print assets for in-store signage, display graphics, packaging, and promotional materials.
  • Follow deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner
  • Participate in every stage of the design process, working independently and collaborating with a team, to meet project objectives and deliver strategic and creative concepts that are engaging, and relevant to our customers.
  • Research current design and graphics trends in fashion and marketing.
  • Manage multiple projects of various sizes at any given time.
  • If fully bilingual, you will act as a second pair of eyes on French translations for packaging and various marketing materials and use your familiarity with the language to place copy while adhering to typographic principles.

Technical Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in graphic design with a proven track record of strong creative judgement to engage a wide audience across different channels.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Xd and/or Figma skills.
  • Working HTML & CSS knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design and front-end fundamentals
  • Experience working on B2C UI/UX projects
  • Proficient knowledge of prototyping, testing, and development processes
  • Strong understanding of complex user flows with numerous variables and impacts
  • Solid knowledge of print production.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of graphic design principles including: branding, colour theory, information hierarchy, and typography.
  • Proficient knowledge of marketing communications, print production, and front-end development.
  • Ability to interpret the briefing process to ensure creative execution meets and exceeds the business needs.

Bonus Skills ~ Nice to have, but not necessary

  • Working Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro knowledge.
  • Familiarity with BigCommerce or similar.
  • Familiarity with interior design, industrial design, and/or retail.
  • Fluency in French.

Education

Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or Web Design from a recognized design program.

Monday to Friday

Core Hours: 9:00–5:30
