I purchased the pillow cases initially for the gentleness for my hair. I had bought only 1 pair and realized when changing the bedding I needed to use my other pillowcases in place of the satin ones while they were being washed. By the way they do wash up rather nicely. The satin pillowcases do not allow you to awaken the following morning with "bed head". After going back and forth with satin verses cotton pillowcases I decided to get additional ones so we did not have to deal with those satin "breaks".
My husband likes the noticeable change also when he gets up in the a.m. and his hair is not going in all directions at one time.
I purchased additional sets so I can gift them to someone else...somewhat an unusual gift item but a lovely luxury item to receive.
