Located in our bright offices in South Burnaby, our dynamic in-house creative team continues to grow! We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Assistant in Print & Textiles to join our team.

As a Design Assistant in Print & Textiles, your primary responsibility is to support our senior designer and creative director in the development, execution, and roll out of products. In this position you will liaison with our creative team, our suppliers, our merchandiser, and our store managers to ensure the quality and timeliness of our products and product development.

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Assist in execution of seasonal product roll-outs following designer briefs regarding colour and trends forecasts
  • Create story strategies based on market trends to be used as sales tools for point of sale
  • Create and update product knowledge (PK)
  • Organize and catalogue product samples for development including strike-offs and lab dips; archiving discontinued product
  • Assist with detailed product design specifications for overseas suppliers
  • Communicate consistently with suppliers regarding samples, design strike-offs, colour lab dips, product development and arrival times
  • Assist in product quality control
  • Respond to store requests, inquiries, and issues regarding products
  • Assist in the preparation and styling of product for photoshoots and marketing material

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Ex: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Background/education in design
  • Familiarity with MSWord and MSExcel
  • Strong attention to detail; able to provide accurate and concise information in a timely manner
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Illustration, painting, interior design & merchandising skills an asset
  • Previous experience in home styling or fashion retail

Monday to Friday
Core Hours: 9:00–5:30
